Technical Lead, (Backend) API Network - Remote

About the Team
 
You will be working with us in the API Network Squad, we address the problem of API discovery for Public, Private, and Partner APIs. Since its launch last year, the Public API Network (Postman | Postman API Network ) has become the largest API Marketplace in the world.

We have a ton of initiatives coming up for improving the API distribution & discovery experience across the board and would love to have you as a part of this journey!

You will be reporting to one of our Engineering Managers while working in this team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Enable seamless sharing, discovery and governance for Private and Partner APIs by building out and improving on Private & Partner API networks.

  • Contribute to the development of APIs and products while working with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Designers, Support and Product, Quality, Security and Platform Engineers.

  • Perform code reviews and advocate better practises for software engineering by mentoring and encouraging others around you to build a quality product.

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman's scale

  • Proficient with Javascript, node.js, React.Js, and strong understanding of web fundamentals.

  • Strong knowledge of Database fundamentals especially on the performance aspects such as optimising queries, schema design, indexing, caching.

  • Proven record of building & products from scratch.

  • Has a point of view and is comfortable and prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders, such as PM, EM etc.
