Add the Orbit MCP server to your editor

Orbit's MCP server needs no API key and no local process: it's a remote HTTP endpoint your agent talks to directly.

  1. Open your coding agent's MCP configuration (Claude Code: .mcp.json or claude mcp add; Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code Copilot, Gemini CLI, and others all have an equivalent MCP settings file).
  2. Add the Orbit server:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "orbit": {
      "url": "https://mcp.buildwithorbit.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}
  1. Restart or reload your agent so it picks up the new server.
2

Confirm the tools are visible

  1. Ask your agent:

    List the MCP tools available from the orbit server.

  2. Confirm it reports two tools: one for searching for APIs (search) and one for generating an integration task brief (integrate). The exact tool name your agent shows may be prefixed (e.g. mcp__orbit__search), that's fine.
