Postman Notebooks Challenge—Official Terms and Conditions

1. Overview

The Postman Notebooks Challenge ("Contest") is organized by Postman, Inc. ("Postman") to encourage developers to create and share high-quality, public Postman Notebooks that highlight real-world use of APIs. By entering the Contest, participants (“Participants”) agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). No purchase is necessary to enter or win the Contest.

2. Eligibility

The Contest is open to individuals who:

  • Are 18 years or older,
  • Are not employees, contractors, or immediate family members of Postman,
  • Have an active Postman account,
  • Submit an original public Notebook using one or more public APIs available via the Postman API Network.

The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

3. How to Enter

To participate, entrants must:

  • Create a public Postman Notebook that uses one or more public APIs listed on the Postman API Network;
  • Include text within the Notebook itself that clearly explain its purpose and workflow;
  • Submit their entry via the official submission form by August 25, 2025 at 11:59 PM PT.

Each Participant may submit multiple Notebooks but may only win one prize.

4. Judging Criteria

Each eligible Notebook will be judged based on the following criteria

  • Clarity & Documentation
  • API Usage
  • Originality
  • Reusability
  • Impact

Judging will take place between August 26–September 1, 2025. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period.

5. Prizes

Winners will be announced September 8, 2025. Awards include:

  • $1,000 - First place winner in each category (4 total)
  • $750 - Second place in each category (4 total)
  • $500 - Third place in each category (4 total)
  • $1,000 - Community Favorite (based on peer voting)
  • $2,500 - One Creator Fellowship Grant (also includes a Postman blog spotlight, 3 one on one sessions with Postman API Network team members, and swag kit)
  • $250 - Weekly “mini-challenge” prizes awarded through our community forums
  • Swag Kits - Postman merch for top winners (e.g. hoodie, stickers, desk mat)

Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash. Winners are responsible for all taxes associated with prize receipt.

6. Categories

Participants may enter their Notebooks in the following categories:

  • Best Getting Started Notebook - Onboarding guide for a public API
  • Most Innovative Use Case - A clever or unexpected use of one or more APIs
  • Best Multi-API Workflow - Workflows involving two or more APIs
  • Most Helpful Educational Notebook - Teaches a tricky concept clearly
  • Community Favorite - Voted by the Postman community after submissions close

7. Winner Communication

Category winners will be notified via email the week of September 8, 2025.

8. Community Voting

Voting will be open to Postman users from September 1 to September 7, 2025. Voters may support their favorite submissions in the Community Favorite category. Any fraudulent voting activity will result in disqualification.

9. Publicity and Use of Submissions

By entering, you agree that Postman may showcase, or otherwise use, your name, company name, submitted Notebook, and any related content (e.g. blog features, social media, presentations) for marketing, educational, or promotional purposes without any compensation or further notice, unless prohibited by law.

10. Participant Obligations and Disqualification

Participants must not engage in fraudulent activity to obtain votes, including but not limited to buying votes or using automated tools.

Submissions will be disqualified if they:

  • Include plagiarized or previously published content;
  • Violate Postman’s Terms of Service or Privacy Policy;
  • Are submitted using automated systems or falsified identity information;
  • Contain prohibited or harmful content.

11. Limitation of Liability

Postman, its affiliates, and agents will not be liable for:

  • Late, lost, incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate submissions;
  • Technical errors or interruptions, including but not limited to website outages;
  • Any claims, damages, or injuries arising from participation and/or prize acceptance.

12. Governing Law

This Contest is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from this Contest will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in San Francisco, California.

13. Privacy

Information collected during the Contest will be handled in accordance with Postman's Privacy Policy.

14. Changes and Cancellation

Postman reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest or these Terms at any time without prior notice.
