The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People Operations Generalist to develop and implement comprehensive onboarding and offboarding programs. This role is crucial in enhancing the employee experience from their first day through their departure, ensuring a seamless transition for new hires and departing employees. Here at Postman, we are a team, and we are looking for someone who can support all aspects of people operations depending on the needs of the business.
What you’ll do:
Onboarding:
- Design and implement an effective onboarding program that promotes engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with department heads to tailor onboarding processes to specific roles and teams.
- Develop onboarding materials, including welcome kits, training schedules, and informational resources.
- Conduct new hire orientations to introduce company culture, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate the onboarding process, gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
Offboarding:
- Create a structured offboarding program that ensures a positive experience for departing employees.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather insights on employee experiences and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage the offboarding checklist, ensuring all necessary steps (e.g., equipment retrieval and knowledge transfer) are completed efficiently.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to facilitate the transition of responsibilities and resources.
General HR Responsibilities:
- Provide support in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Stay updated on HR best practices and employment laws to ensure compliance.
- Assist in developing HR policies and procedures.
Who you are:
- You possess strong knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- You have the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- You understand the needs and learning styles of diverse audiences
- You can adapt quickly to evolving needs of a high growth organization
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and consider yourself adaptable: Willing to learn, try new approaches and iterate based on impact
- Your competencies include excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
What you’ve done:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on onboarding/offboarding preferred.
- Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite.

This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay area & the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $93,500 - $110,000 & a competitive equity package.
