The Opportunity

As the Head of Content Strategy, you are a doer who excels in dynamic environments, have "been there, done that," and are confident in your ability to build and optimize content programs from the ground up.

In this role, you will lead all aspects of our content strategy, from conceptualization with product marketing to execution and reporting. You will be responsible for guiding our content marketing approach and delivering measurable results.

At Postman, content is integral to everything we do, from our blog to social media to podcasts and beyond. Our strategy engages customers across the entire journey, from developers to enterprise-level executives. We need a leader who can elevate our current approach, champion content across departments, identify new opportunities, and apply their innovative expertise.

Success in this role will be measured by your contribution to pipeline and revenue, as well as the implementation of a framework to drive positive results in key brand metrics such as organic traffic, reach, and share of voice. You will take ownership of the content marketing strategy, from ideation to implementation and reporting. We are looking for a strategic thinker who understands how to measure success, build and collaborate with teams, and who loves to roll up their sleeves to make an impact.

What You'll Do

  • Create an SEO strategy that significantly improves search rankings, increasing brand visibility and credibility.
  • Lead a content team to results with the guiding principal of “quality over quantity”. You will manage a team that creates high-value content that is more likely to be shared, liked, and commented on, amplifying Postman’s reach and impact.
  • Grow the Postman community both online and in person across professional and student developer community programs
  • Build and grow Postman’s Community champion program
  • Own the content strategy for Breaking Changes, is a weekly podcast where Postman Chief Evangelist Kin Lane hosts stellar guests from across the API universe to discuss, debate, and solve the latest topics around APIs and API-first.
  • Create a comprehensive social media strategy that optimizes content for the specific channel from TikTok to Linkedin and more
  • Create a video strategy to grow Postman’s Youtube channel
  • Optimize Postman’s blog and distribution channels including the Postman newsletter
  • Stay on top of new content trends, and invest in new channels to drive Postman’s business goals in partnership with product marketing.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years' experience creating content strategies across multiple channels and platforms such as websites, microsites, social media, or email.
  • Ability to use analytics to inform user research and recommendations.
  • Ability to handle competing and/or tight deadlines, great organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Excellent communication skills essential.

What Else?

If the role is based in the greater San Francisco area, and the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $195,500 to $264,500, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our pay-on-performance philosophy, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend. Salaries will vary outside of the listed metropolitan areas & the U.S.
