The Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced, energetic leader for our Developer Relations and Community team. As Head of DevRel & Community, you’ll be responsible for a team that focuses on producing phenomenal how-to content, creating engaging event experiences, and supporting the Postman community. By leading this team, you will drive engagement, facilitate knowledge sharing, and foster positive relationships with our developer community. Your primary goal will be to empower users to get their API work done in Postman through compelling content, engaging events, and active community support.

This is a hybrid position based in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a team in producing high-quality content, including how-to blogs and videos, to help users understand how to better get their API work done in Postman, ensuring it resonates with audiences.
  • Plan and execute an annual large-scale conference. You will collaborate with the team to develop a compelling, and engaging event experience for our users, focused on educating users and helping them solve even more problems with Postman.
  • Support our community. You’ll manage a team that actively engages with users in community forums and social media channels to answer questions, provide solutions, and help users overcome challenges. Act as a representative of the company in other community discussion forums and events, participating in conversations and driving engagement around our product.
  • Perform strategic planning. You’ll develop and execute strategic plans that align with business objectives, utilizing insights gained from content performance, event feedback, and community interactions. Continuously refine and enhance the team's strategies and initiatives to foster growth, user satisfaction, and brand loyalty.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support. Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and professional development among team members.

About You:

  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in developer relations, community management, or related roles, demonstrating a proven track record in effectively leading teams to achieve results.
  • Content Production Expertise: Strong background in producing product-related content, such as how-to blogs and videos, with a focus on engaging and educating users. Familiarity with content metrics and analytics to assess performance and optimize content strategies.
  • Event Leadership / Management: Proficiency in planning and executing large-scale conferences or events, including dedicated product training sessions. Experience in creating impactful event experiences that cater to various user levels and interests.
  • Community Engagement: Demonstrated ability to engage with users in community forums and social media channels, providing timely and effective support. Experience participating in and representing a company in community discussion forums and events.
  • Strategic Thinking: Possess strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to develop and implement plans that align with business goals. Ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making and optimize initiatives.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, foster collaboration, and facilitate the growth and development of team members.
  • Excellent Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. Ability to represent the company at industry events and engage with stakeholders confidently.

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the reasonably estimated salary can be requested at anytime, plus the competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our pay-on-performance philosophy, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend. Salaries will vary outside of the listed metropolitan areas & the U.S.
