The Opportunity:

As Head of Marketing Creative at Postman, you will play a pivotal role in up-leveling and executing the creative vision for our brand and creating compelling customer-facing assets and experiences. You will lead a team of talented designers and specialists, driving the development of high-impact creative assets that resonate with developers and relevant stakeholders and continue to position Postman as a brand loved by millions worldwide.

In your day, you will…

  • Provide strategic leadership.
    • Continue to refine and articulate our brand into a compelling creative vision aligned with the company's overall strategy and business objectives
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, people ops, and other teams, to ensure a cohesive and consistent brand identity across all touchpoints
    • Ensure efforts, resources, and efforts align with expected business impacts
  • Lead a collaborative team.
    • Inspire a team of creative professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment that focuses on enabling other teams with amazing brand assets
    • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and contribute to their growth
    • Foster a culture of transparency and open communication within the team
    • Empower team members to own and manage their projects
  • Provide creative direction with a focus on customers and an attitude of enablement.
    • Start every project, initiative, and effort by putting customers at the center of organizational efforts
    • Oversee the development of creative concepts, designs, and content for channels including digital platforms, events, swag, and more
    • Provide objective and intentional feedback to members of your team as required.
    • Ensure all creative assets are on-brand, visually appealing, and effectively communicate key messages to target audiences
    • Focus on enabling creative and other teams  to move fast and serve others, versus acting as a gatekeeper or blocker
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
    • Work closely with teams across the organization to translate technical concepts into visually engaging and easy-to-understand content
    • Act as an enabler of other teams—not as a gatekeeper—to help them achieve their business objectives
  • Manage vendor relationships
    • Identify vendors that will help Postman use resources wisely, with a strategic view towards building in-house versus outsourcing for both budget and speed of implementation
    • Onboard, manage, and offboard vendors as needed.  Ensure they stay aligned with business objectives and that any assets developed externally are consistent for both creative and message

About You:

  • Experience:
    • Possess a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably within the technology or SaaS industry, with a track record of successfully leading and managing creative teams at the highest levels of brand and business impact
    • Minimum of 5 years managing a design team
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional creative and conceptual thinking abilities with a strong understanding of design principles, branding, and storytelling
  • Leadership abilities:
    • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, foster collaboration, and facilitate the growth and development of team members.
  • Excellent communication:
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely. Ability to represent the company at industry events and engage with stakeholders confidently
  • Technical proficiency:
    • Familiarity with design tools, multimedia software, and project management platforms, including, but not limited to Figma, Adobe suite, CSS, Web development technologies, asset management systems, and AI and generative AI tooling.

What Else?

This role is based in the greater San Francisco Bay area, and the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $204,000 to $ 276,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our pay-on-performance philosophy, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend. Salaries will vary outside of the listed metropolitan areas & the U.S.
